About the Artist
Lori Bettyas-Baratta is a full-time artist/illustrator with over 275 published designs including both decorative & fine art. Her work has been exhibited at international shows, reviewed in national trade magazines, & has graced the covers of both books & catalogs. Her designs can also be found on a diverse array of products offered through both her own company & other companies as well; all the way from stationery & rubber stamps to magnets & T-shirts. She has also written several published how-to-paint articles for art & craft magazines.
Basically self-taught, she originally started painting in acrylics on wood, & later took a few night courses in watercolour & oils, while also studying the use of pen & ink, pencils, pastels & gouache, finding a whole new world working in mixed media.
It seemed only natural to combine both her love & deep respect of animals & her passion for art. Her enjoyment of rendering portraits of both people & animals, comes from ” both the excitement of color and capturing the unique look and spirit of each individual subject”.
As an avid animal lover & owner, Lori is very happy to be able to contribute a portion of her portraits proceeds to help benefit both injured & homeless animals. To find out more about this program, click on the Donation Program Info. button above on the left side of your screen.
